This is the last soup I’ll post for awhile, I promise. It’s just that I can’t think of an easier way to eat my vegetables.
I warned you that things would get repetitive around here. And here we go again, another comforting, tomato-cheese-pasta dish that I would happily eat every day.
I’m not usually one of those people who doesn’t know what they want for dinner. Growing up, discussions about dinner used to take up the whole ride to school with my dad, who was generally in charge of the hair-brushing, English muffin-toasting morning routine.
While I’d consider myself a black raspberry chocolate chip, gingerbread molasses and banana oreo with jimmies in a cone, I’m married to a vanilla.
This chili came thisclose to being an outright disaster, twice. It all started so innocently. After subsisting on a fridge teetering on empty, pizza delivery, pasta with cheese and shakshuka for the last week, I needed more.

Here at The Shortlists’ mother den, things can get a little out of control. Annual homeward migrations mean nonstop runs of long, boozy dinners in and out.
While we do have different standards when it comes to lots of things, Francesco and I both put this cake in our respective Top 3 Cakes of All Time lists. And you know what? Everyone who’s ever tried it probably has too.
If I were to name my top twenty foods of all time, bran muffins would make the list.
This is going to be short because, for the first time in months, it feels like summer in Sydney, and we’re taking full advantage.
Just as I expected! No dissenters. Not even the pickiest among us has a bone to pick with chocolate pudding and that’s what makes it so great.
Please excuse me if I start to trail off during this post. It’s been a long day.
